Test pipe or high flow cat?
Looking at catalogs some show a tube kit needed to install a high flow catalytic converters on my 1981. What will I need to do if I installed a test pipe. Last week one of the 25 year old mufflers broke at the inlet pipe. Yesterday the UPS truck dropped of my new Magnaflows from corvette central. I have order a test pipeand am waiting for it to show up I am going to get histroic plates so emissions are not an issue hgas any one else gone with a test pipe and Magnaflows? I will be removing the factory converter.Test pipe runs $35.00 while a high flow cat is in the $200.00 range with tube kit Thanks, Tim

Due to EPA, I installed the hi flow cats. Now I have learned that the EPA is dropping tests for 92 and below, so I was looking to repalce the cats with the pipe. The place where I got the exhaust system says he can't sell me the pipe just the entire exhaust as he risks fine. I can sell me the whole new system without cats, but not just the pipe...risks $25k fine. It sounds and runs great, so I guess I will leave it.
