Default What engine do I have?

The guy I bought the car from said it's a crate motor. These are the numbers that I can find on my engine. What can you tell me about it? Am I even looking at the right numbers? Thanks.

-Peter

I found the following 2 numbers between the carburetor and distributor.

I found this at the location of the stamped pad.

go to the very back (close to fire wall) top left or right side of the block and you should be able to find a couple of numbers there

I found some numbers between the firewall and the valve cover. On the driver's side there is C015. I'm guessing this is the casting date. Next to this number I got
GM 5.7 L G (or 6)
SGI (or 561)
On the passenger side I found something like 14093638. Does this make sense now? Thanks.

14093638 - 350 CID, 1987-1995, Car & Truck, 2 & 4-bolt main, 1-rear piece seal.

This website has some good information for other casting numbers. Hope this helps.

Thanks. 155-255 hp wasn't what I was hoping for. Oh well...
