Default 1978 S/A value

Looking like we will be moving to Colorado from Michigan in the coming weeks and I'm thinking I will sell my toys. I really like my vette and will haul it out there if I can afford to! I would still like to get an idea what it's actually worth. Car is in very nice condition. Few small nicks and scratches, but hardly noticable. The intertior is in pretty good shape too. Car never saw rain or snow. Very clean underneath. New mufflers and tires. 57,000 miles and runs great.

The only gotcha on this is that I have a rebuilt salvage title for it. The car got stolen years ago, but only the t-tops were stolen. No damage to the car. Engine, tranny, and all numbers match the body vin. State police inspected it and said it appears to be original and in very good condition. I have the inspection report.

Now, with that said, what would be a good starting point for price if I decide to sell it?

Thanks!
Brian

I would say $13 to $15 thou. With a clear title, I would say $15 to $20 at todays prices. Low mileage S/A are usually $3 to $5 above base.

I use the NADA Guide...

Low Retail *Average Retail **High Retail

$8,225 *$11,900 **$17,825

Low Retail Value
This vehicle would be in mechanically functional condition, needing only minor reconditioning. The exterior paint, trim, and interior would show normal wear, needing only minor reconditioning. May also be a deteriorated restoration or a very poor amateur restoration. Most usable "as-is".

Note: This value does not represent a "parts car".

Average Retail Value
This vehicle would be in good condition overall. It could be an older restoration or a well-maintained original vehicle. Completely operable. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are presentable and serviceable inside and out. A "20-footer".

High Retail Value
This vehicle would be in excellent condition overall. It could be a completely restored or an extremely well maintained original vehicle showing very minimal wear. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are not in need of reconditioning. The interior would be in excellent condition. Note: This value does not represent a "100 Point" or "# 1" vehicle *.
* "100 Point" or "# 1" vehicle is not driven. It would generally be in a museum or transported in an enclosed trailer to concourse judging and car shows. This type of car would be stored in a climate-regulated facility.

Go to their site..more pricing info for how your vette is equiped...I'd say your are at $12,000...
