I'd been debating about having my steering wheel restored to be black on black but I hadn't seen a pic until now. I'm sold. Definatly on the "to do" list.

Tell us more about your sill plates.

What guages do you have mounted on the center console? I'm replacing the ashtray with a row of rocker switches and intend to put a starter button in place of the cig. lighter. All will be low enough in profile to close the ashtray lid for a stock look.

I think finishing the interior is the crown. Never smoked on, fresh smell. We finally found a set of black belts for ours here on the forum. Keep your eyes open. Good Job! Al

Thanks for the positive comments guys!

Ak.Mal, I bought two more sill plate trim pieces and cut a thin piece of flat aluminum to fit in between. The vendors sell these also with the word "corvette" ingraved. The gauges are stewart warner tach/shift light....a/f ratio gauge......autometer vacuum gauge.

I recently deleted my car pics from my computer but intend to set up some new ones .

Those control the electric mirrors. The rocker switch enables the left or right mirror, the other works like a joystick.....up-down-left -right.

Very cool. I'm guessing htose were not stock though? Did you find a kit or pirate them from another car?

Looks great. Where did you get the 6-speed pattern panel next to the shifter. I think my bride and others might need that IF I allow them to drive.

I'd bet they were provided by Richmond.

The electric mirror controls are factory installed on the 81's.
The h- pattern plate insert is made by richmond, I can find the part # if you like.

Very good job on that interior. Did you have any problems getting the carpet layed in one piece? I see a lot of people who try and end up with buckles or wrinkles.

Heck yes. Do they sell them seperately if you didn't buy the tranny from them?
