Default Mufflers

Morning people, I'm shopping for new mufflers for my '78. I am looking for that throaty growl , well you guys probably know what I mean. I was told they were Flowmasters . My mechanic (when I can afford him) says he just put a set on for some dude, and the guy was disapointed. Then I heard Summit racing has a stainless steel one with sound I want and priced right. Any help?? Love this forum !! Terry

I just put magnaflows on my 76. I love the sound, heathly but not to loud. What sounds good to one person doesn't always sound good to another. I would sugest going to a cruise night or some other place where you will be able to hear other cars and ask the owner what they are running. Good luck.

I bought flowmaster delta 50's for mine and installed a Dr Gas X-Pipe. They have a drone at 1500-2000 that I don't care for, but at speed and WOT they sound awesome.

I agree with c3_guy. hit a cruzin and check out some different mufflers. It's avery subjective thing. I know lot's of people on the forum like the dynaflows.

New Flowmasters on my 70 350/350. Sound great, no drone and not too loud.
