Well, my L-88 hood came yesterday from Ecklers and there was no damage. It appears to be an excellent piece and I'm hoping that it doesn't need too much fitting. So I call my paint supplier to get some lacquer paint to match the rest of the car and he tells me they are not going to carry lacquer anymore because of the VOC regulations. He has 1 gallon of clear and a few gallons of thinner but no black. My car is done in Dupont 99S Diamond Black lacquer with a 380S clearcoat lacquer on top. It's stunning and I want to use the same paint. But where to get it?

Better start calling around! You think YOU hate the EPA? Trying living in the same state as CARB.
I may have found a place to get lacquer. It's not dupont paint but beggars can't be choosers and I only have to do the hood. Here's a link to their site
If this stuff works for my hood I may just have to lay in a stash of it in case the EPA police decide to make spraying your own car with lacquer a felony.
