i was the one that started the poll. the reason the poll was started where another person said the c3 was by far the worst corvette ever build. i have had a c3 which i still have and a c4 which i personally feel was a peice of crap and sold becuase i got sick of repairing it. i was curiouse how the vett community in a whole felt about each generation and would like to here complaints about all years and reasons.

THESE POLLS ARE CRAP

You would not have bought a corvette in the first place if you thought any of them were junk... this is all about personal preference, with doesnt mean crap to anyone else.

I declare a ban on this poll, and he who started it, and he who started any other poll like this is a loser.

(by the way, my personal preferance rates C4's as least desirable.... but again, thats personal preference... shouldnt matter to anyone else.)

what the hell is wrong with you. did you escape a mental hospital. i could sit here and list all the crap the broke on my c4 in a 2 year period and i bought it with 65k and sold it with 88k.

for as long as the corvette was built your bound to run into a few that arnt that good and especially since a lot of the corvettes use new parts or features not offered by chevy before. get over it and grow up.

I think what Joe means is that these types of polls tend to insight
bad feeling between owners, and they ultimately serve no useful purpose.

It doesn't matter how many miles are on an OLD car ... it will always have old car problems.
Across generations: technology will cure many issues, but also create new ones.
IMO - 84/85 gave a bad name to C4s. I'd like a late C4 vert, myself.

Now, a crappy C5 or C6 ... no excuses there, I guess.
Look at warranty records for C5s ... unbelievable.

I too had a bad C4, spent a fortune on fixing it, always breaking down,
however the C4 I have now, and for the past 11 years has given me virtually NO problems, this is why I state that this poll BLOWS!!
You cannot judge an entire generation, and hundreds of thousands of cars because some of them give you fits.

yess but its a poll and nothing more then that. and what this poll is, is a group of people personal opinions about a car. i think this is a sore poll becuase if people feel that there generation is up top in means its a bigger peice of crap then the ford pinto. this isnt the case its a poll and nothing more and each generation had there strong points as stated before. the c4 might have been plaged with problems but it made me feel like i was in a jet fighter and technolgy wise made the c3 look are like an antique. on the other hand alot of people will tell you the c3 is the best looking. c1 and c2 porbly be the most valuble. and as i stated in the poll its generlised to a generation becuase it would be to hard to break it up any other way i relise some years are worse then others in a given generation. again its just a poll to see how the vett community feels in a whole about a given generation towards the quality of a generation.

Holy Crap!

I was curious so I took a quick look on MSN Autos. They have some reliability history for these cars (back to the C4's). Not looking to bash one model year over another, just some interesting info is all..

C5 - http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/Re...ette&trimid=-1

C4 (back to 1998) - http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/Re...ette&trimid=-1

Its still the best looking Vette out there and it turns more heads, draws more compliments in one day than If I drive my MY Z for a week.Yeah they were down on HP but by 78-80 you could get 220-30hp as much as the early C4s..through about 86-87.

Some of the guys making comments in that poll dont clearly dont know much about the C3 gen.

Somebody said the C3 was worst on horsepower. Id like see some of those guys line up with a L71 or L88 ...hell even through 74 you could get 250hp in a small block or 270hp in a big block with good torque.

The way I look at it unless you've owned or at the very least had seat time in every year of whatever vehicle in question (vettes in this situation) nobody opinion means a thing and it always ends up being a my car is better than yours fest.

It does hurt peoples feelings when they hear this year or that is the worst vette ever made and that's the year they own.

It's a waste of time IMHO as is my posting this I guess

the 3rd gen or 70's turned out some bad hp numbers considering what had come before them i think that was the idea

Your right they did, especially considering what they had been..so they were a victim their own success...but they were still probaby the fastest American Car..along with the Pontiac Trans Am...also consider that the C1s...were not that quick until 57-58 with FI...Purely based on the HP issue the 53-56 have to be the worst. Is that sacralige to say that out loud? 225 gross hp..isnt that impressive considering how it was rated.
