Default Anyone seen the Banshee before?

I saw this years ago in HOTROD magazine, and didn't really give it second though until now. I Googled it, and got a lof of great pics. Here's a good one of the car itself. In the back there was a suicide trunk lid that popped open like the hood, hinged at the back above the tail lights.

The Pontiac 1965 Banshee almost beat out the vette for the coke bottle design, but the Pontiac president John DeLorean left Pontaic and then moved to Chevrolet and the design was adopted to the C3 vette.

I liked a lot of it's features, and I think a mixture of the two would have made a great C3, or at least a trim package not offered.

Yeah...

...but one could make that car look a lot better. Put the grills back in, better stance, wider tires, and a spoiler would do a lot.

Pontiac has alway been a step above chevy in price and a little better quality went into them, like the camaro and the firebird, dont know why pontiacs were more money, same car just different front and back. This banshee would have been the same if they would have made it for pontiac,i would think. It would have been neat if it happened that way.You could have the chevy corvette and pontiac banshee, the banshee would have been a little more money though

I saw one, or the one in HOTROD, I'm guessing the other production car, has a V8. I seem to remember teh grilles in it with Vette similar signals.

The owner was nice enough to start the car up and run it at B-Js last year. A straight 6 if I recall, had an interesting sound. The car is way cool looking in real life.

I don't like that '80s Banshee at all...aweful looking in my opinion.
