...I was looking at various parts for sale from all different years. I came upon a place where they had a lot of late model stuff available. They had headlight assemblies from C6's and it got me to thinking.
Now mind you, the sun had beaten down on me all day Friday and I didn't get much sleep after going to William's Grove Raceway that night, getting to bed around 2:00am and back up at 6:30. So, if this is the worst idea in the world, then we can just chalk it up to that. If it's good, well there might be a lot of these headlight assemblies that fly out of junkyards (if you can find them). By now you've probably figured out that I was toying with the idea of grafting C6 headlights into the front of a C3. Am I the only one who has thought of this? Is there someone out there who could photoshop this to make it as close as possible to what it might look like? The guy I saw selling these assemblies was asking $400 a side so, it probably wouldn't be a cheap "let's see what this would look like" type of thing.
OMG, did you see that dragster with NO headlights ? WHAT WAS HE THINKING ??
Jeesus, don't go all NCRS on him.
People put fixed headlights in C3 ALL the time.
You'd be raising a beer glass if it were fixed headlights
and the bubble plexiglass covers.
Quite possible and very doable for the right person with the skills.
I remember a while back, someone posted a C3 with Celica headlight
assemblies that were grafted into the fenders ... IMO looks GREAT.
I wish I kept a picture of that car. Anyone have a copy to post ?
I'm not going to knock it.hopefully someone can photoshop it and we can get an idea of what it looks like.I thing the c6 lights look great and I am curious as to what they would look like in a c3.

Since it was done WELL it does look great. Imagine the disaster if it was done by Bubba
i'm with ya...i thought of doin something like that a long time ago, yet i dont have the skills or funds to pay someone else to do it...i dunno how the c6's would look but those celica lights flow nicely...also try 350z lights...they are about the same...ok go ahead flame us all for for trying out something besides putting on TT's and calling it a day.
Maybe I should have prefaced my post by saying that I hadn't planned on making my car an NCRS restoration. Seems like a '73 with an L48, 4 spd, no power anything or a/c, standard interior would be worth putting back all original. So, it's resto-mod and the [I]other[I] NCRS for me.
Star79--Thanks for posting the vette with the celica headlights. I guess I'm not crazy about that one since it would always have Celica tied to it. Just like the C3's Ive seen with 280Z headlights. At least this would still have Corvette attatched to it through and through.
Thanks to you guys who think outside the box a little. I love the look of the C3 front end with the hidden headlights and will probably leave mine that way. I just thought if it could be seen, this might potentially be something to consider. These headlights look like they would almost fit in the same space as the originals. It would require some filling in of course and yeah, some modification but who knows. Is there someone willing to photoshop this? Thanks again.
Thanks, Steve for posting the Celica lights.
I think they look Fan-friggin-tastic.
Yeah, if Bubba did it - well who knows how many puking smilies we'd have up.
The 280Z lights ... look like crap IMO, since they do not follow the original lines of the car.

You just think it looks good..because of the pic. I'd be willing to bet it looks like total shiat IRL! Look at the fenders, they are altered quite a bt (on the hood side) sort of like the wheel arches on top of the quarter panels on AMC javelins,...and although it suits the little AMC it ... well you get my drift
Look very closely at the pic, stock the fender swoops out and disappeats into the front fender highline..here they come inboard to fit the lights. Pics can be very deceiving.
hope that helps...not sure who's car i used, but its glorious...i dont think i like that too much now that i see it anyway...not enough to do all the work at least.
