Default 71 ls6 convertible

My brother and I have owned a 1971 ls-6 convertible for the last 6 years. It did not have the original engine in it when we purchased it. It had a 396 with the original ls6 square port intake on the oval port heads. We now have a matching numbers block. We do not have a build sheet but the car had not been restored so all of the physical evidence is there. (Tach drive distributor, intake, original carb, TH400 with correct numbers, 6500 redline tach, proper engine output tag on the console, etc.) We also know the ownership history back to 1973. We drove the car for a couple of months and then started to take it apart to begin a restoration. My brother is a GM techician and was going to do most of the work. He then had a baby and neither of us has had time to do anything with the car. We are considering selling the car and want to make sure we get fair value for it. What is it worth and how do get a fair price for it? The car is warbonnet yellow with tan leather interior. It is partially disassembled (Motor, and interior removed)

Thanks,

LS6's are very valuable cars. I think original, numbers matching, documented cars are worth $100K plus. Others know better than I do. However, your car is going to take a hit with no documentation. Also, when you say you have a numbers matching block do you mean the numbers matching block, because there is only one for your car. Without the original engine the car will take another big hit in value. Proving the car is an original LS6 is key.

The key is proving it is a real LS6 car. Anyone can say it is and "I know the history" but most people want written documentation. These cars bring big numbers. Not saying yours is not legit but documentation is needed. Also having it disassembled will hurt the value big time. Having the correct numbers matching motor is important for big dollars. Otherwise it is just another BB Vette. As said above correct LS6 cars can bring 100K but it had better be perfect.
