What do you think... Rust Bucket or a Cool Driver???
I posted this yesterday in the 'Off Topic' Forum and received very little response. I think it's pretty cool... I know the 'C3' Community knows a good thing when it sees it...
ps... click on the video

Yeah, right.
Not sure how 'advanced' it was back then but it sure is an eyecatcher today...

interesting. Peace,,,Moosie
Interesting read. I didn't see what they are going to do with the car, raffle it off? I've never heard of burying an entire car in a time capsule before.
Buried underground for nearly 50 years, Unless it is in a desert climate or sealed in a vaccum container it wil probably be a bucket of rust. But it will be the lowest milage 57 Plymouth on the planet. Probably go for 7 figures at Barret Jackson.
i first heard about this car in 2000 and have it saved in my favorites links
i look forward to them digging it up next year and seeing what they have.
they dont go in to detail on how tey sealed it up so will it be a rust bucket or will it be pristine.
I can't wait till they unearth it, but for my money it will be Belvedere Soup. That thing has been marinating in groundwater for the past forty-odd years. There's a reason no one has basements down here!
I can't believe no one has said it, but I know everyone is thinking it. How cool would that be if it was a fuelie 57 vette? I'd be praying to god my parents lived in Tulsa at the time, thats for sure.
If you watch the video closely - you will note that they appeared to have taken some precautions when the burried it. They used aluminum foil to cover the exposed engine parts, the under carriage is wrapped and they wrapped the entire car once it was LOWERED into the vault. It also appears they sprayed some sort of sealer into the vault as well, I would guess maybe styrofoam. I bet this car will come out looking pretty darn good.
