Got a 75 vette and am in the process of resoring and fixing. One major problem is the leaking. Did not know how much it leaked until the "rainy season" here in Fl started. I know I have to replace the weather stripping all around but I believe the area from below the wipers is leaking and it is going through to soak the carpet when it does rain. I remember someone on here had some sort of device placed there and had "Corvette" written on it. Don't remember if it was metal or plastic or what but it apparently had stopped that and made the car look better.
Any thoughts?
Don't know if you mean me cause lots of guys have them, but here's my wiper-cover (plastic). All the vendors sell them for about 75 bucks, minus Corvette lettering. I don't know how much it stops water leakage, I don't drive in the rain. I know it's not MADE to stop water anyway. Oh, and if you have a stock hood it might not fit, my hood wouldn't close until I changed it for an aftermarket one (YMMV though...)
There are a lot of leak spots on these cars. All around the windshield, along the bottom of the windshield, Check around the firewall, rust is a big problem because of this, Where in Fl are you? I am in Boca, several members down here
I am in Ocala. I don't think that it's leaking around the windshield. I really believe it is the fact that the stuff they use to seal that particular area is original and therefore probably ineffective. Plus it is ugly and looks unfinished to me. Any thoughts on how to re-seal?
