Default body removal 77

im lookin to do a frame off restoration on my 1977 vette. ive notice 4 bolts 2 on each side of the fender close to the door, just wondering if theres anything i should look out for clips, bolts...etc to make the front end removal a piece of cake as it is essential to get it off.

if anyone has any pics of a similar job, put them on.

once i get my front end off, i will begin posting some pics of 77

thanks - steve

the entire body comes off as one piece. There are 8 body mount bolts.
they are located on the firewall inside the engine compartment, behind the kick panels, in front of the rear wheels, and behind the rear wheels. The front end is also supported by the radiator support and fron bumper. Pull your bumpers first to get them out of the way. leave the rad support with the body and take it loose from the round support pipe it sits on. You must also remove all the ground straps and bat cable where bolte to the frame.be sure to support the front fenders some way when you lift the body. This has been done lots of different ways but this is how I did it.

why do you want to remove the front clip?

I removed mine because I have rot around the windshield frame (top corners, top center section and lower center section) and I have one rocker channel that's just about completely gone.

taking off the front clip was my best option to repair all of that rot, I'm now contemplating removing the birdcage from the rest of the body to make it even easier to repair the complete birdcage.
I figure, what the hell, I have nothing but time!
