On my 73, I'm considering replacing part of the trim under the T-Tops,..the big chrome "H" shaped piece, and I'm looking for the two rear pieces that are rivited to the larger piece. The chrome is not up to snuff anymore,..some rust but perhaps it could be re-chromed but I want to price new pieces before I consider the re-chroming option.
But I can't find any of this trim in my books. Is it sold as an assembly or can I puchase the two rear pieces separately?
If you could steer me toward a vendor and give me the name of the trim I'm talking about,..and perhaps even a part number,..that would be great. I'm assuming GM is no longer selling it.
I am looking for the same thing for my 78. Mine has some pretty worn spots (almost looks like a harsh cleaner was previously used) and will not clean up. I thought I would find it in the Corvette World catalogue but nothing. I called them and the guy said this (and most chrome parts) have been discontinued. He said these parts are hard to manufacture so no one has come up with replacement parts yet. His suggestion was to find a used part and/or call a chrome shop to see about refurbing. Any one else have a thought? What is this piece called by the way? T-top chrome T or H trim?
