1975 coupe rear window
The sealant on mine didn't have much hold it seemed, so yours may be harder. I know sometimes people have pushed a piece of stiff wire (piano wire) through the sealant with a small screwdriver and then pulled it across the window, from both the inside and out to cut the sealant.
Good luck,
Frank
with a tarp, and letting it sit outside .... the sun heated
up the interior enough that mine fell out. Luckily, no breakage.
Yes - my 75 - not the 70.
So, I agree with the first response. If it doesn't come out easily, just
try heating with a blow dryer for a while. You could also cut the seal
with a knife from the outside, but I don't think there is a real need to.
You can also consider a retro-fit removable rear window. All the places
are there to install the hardware. Then, you need window, frame, latches,
guides, and new roof panels.
Window is attached/sealed with butyl rubber ... just like original windshield.
Butyl rubber is a sticky black rubber that doesn't harden.
Butyl rubber "tape" is readily available at most good auto parts stores.
