Default One simple Jeep steering box Question

I've started looking for a jeep steering box for the conversion.

I've read I need a box from a 1999 to 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Is this correct?

When I punch this into an e-bay search, the descriptions of the steering boxes claim to be right, but look nothing like the boxes pictured in all the threads here. If you've done this swap and purchased your own box, let me know if this model and year range is what you bought...
thanks! John

Default jeep box or hydra boost parts for cheap

i just bought a jeep box and a hydra boost unit from two different wrecking yards i found them through www.car-part.com search for a box from a grand cherokee pick a year from 99 thru 04 it will return page after page of results go to the last page with pricing pick one and call with a credit card i bought mine for 55.00 shipped the hydra boost from a chevy silverado i picked 92 for the model and went vacumn booster i think pay attention to the comments in the results as the hydra boost is mixed in pick one and call i paid 50.00 shipped for mine i did both of these on monday . good luck i have bought many hard to find parts through this as the software links thousands of wrecking yards through the us.

now if anyone reading this can hook me up with the part number of the correct borgerson steering joint as well as the best info on installing the hydraboost and the jeep box thansk chico

BBShark, I've had that pic in a folder on my computer for weeks! If you had a dollar for every time it's been saved by a forum member, you'd be able to afford a full tank of gas! (remember the old Sunoco purple?) It's an extremely helpful pic.

chico, thanks for the link, I'm looking tonight.

....and finally.....

I know you guys have already read my post on how I installed a Dana front and rear axle assembly out of a '85 Ramcharger under my vette. I've ALREADY got the locking hubs AND the mudders, now I just need the power steering to help turn those 36"ers!
Thanks......I think....

WTF!!!!! take it off any sweet jumps lately?

Chico,
I have a pic of the borgeson steering u-joint package at home with part #. I'll post it tonight around 7pm my time (aprox 3hrs).
I ordered the jeep box kit from CorvetteSteering, he might sell you just the u-joint.

It can be found anywhere that sells Borgeson joints, you just have to have the correct part number.

Yeah, I remember when everyone used Sunoco. Had to have at least 260 in the tank!

I have a 2D CAD file of the Vette and Jeep box. If you can use it, email me.

I know that it probably says elsewhere, but I was wondering how the results have been with the swaps so far. I may be interested in doing this for a winter project, as my box is farely sloppy.

Chico...thanks for the parts link! I searched last night and found a box at a yard 6 miles away! I'm going over at noon today to have a look see.

BTW, I wuz only BS-ing y'all about the the front and rear end swap, so anyone whos sent me a PM wanting pics can stop now.

But I've got the skills, the swap would've made the car flippin' sweet!
