Well I have had the 383ci/489hp/495tq/M21 4speed stroker in my 71 for a while now. And have not really gotten down on it off the line. Dang I don't know what got into to me. I was on a slight incline, a neighbor asked me to rev the engine to listen to it, so I took my foot off the brake to rev the pedal. And before I knew it I was smokin the tires and 150 feet down the road, before I let off of it. It's gonna be difficult to stay out of trouble with this beast, took me a while to regain my composure.
I'm about to build a 383....can you tell me a little more about your set-up.....heads?....stoker kit?....cam, intake, etc????? I just got my scat kit in today!....about to buy some brodix heads and everything else...
internal specs:
4bolt main bored .030 over, Scat 9000 series crank/internally balanced, Scat 6" forged IBeam rods, SRP Forged Pistons, Special Coated Race Series Main and Rod bearings, 1.6 ratio aluminum roller rockers, Melling High volume oil pump.

That is a BEAUTIFUL CAR! Nice work on the resto. Glad you are finally running it. With 489hp, you need to use em. Get that biotch to the track pronto! I bet thats a high 11 sec car if you can get it to hook.
The Airgap fits under the original LT1 hood. I have not done any resto on the body, here are a couple pics. I fabricated the 3" mandrel bent side exhaust using mandrel bends I purchased from Summit.
