Default Corbeau A4 Seats

I've just purchased a 71 convertible. I've seen some postings where folks have swapped seats. I am currently leaning toward leather A4s. I am also assuming I will need the brackets that Corbeau lists for C3s. Can anyone who has done this provide feedback on some questions:

- Does the A4 fit the car w/out obstruction?
- Is this a DIY installation or do I need to take these to a shop?
- Has anyone also added 3 belts (non-OEM) to the car?

Thanks!

Talk about timing! I just found a link in another thread here on the forum that shows installation of Corbeau A4 seats, and then I read your post.

Anyway, check this out:

Take a look at the link VCuomo listed.

If you go with the Speed Direct DIY kit, they fit in without any other modifications. I thought it was pretty easy. The hardest part might be getting the old bolts out and cleaning up all the rotted french fries under the seats.

Thanks - What about using the mounts that are listed for the C3 on the Corbeau site?

Also, the Speed Direct site says these only work for 77 and later cars and that the kits for 68-76 are still under development...

I don't know about the ones from Corbeau since I got mine from SD. SD should update their site since the 68-76s are available now.

ApexPerformance.net is running a special on the A4 leather seats and brackets right now ($479/seat, $89/bracket, free shipping). I just ordered them. They were also very helpful on some questions I had.

I was wondering if anyone with the A4's had pics from the back of the car, and also if the t-tops go in the back still.

Not sure. I exchanged a bunch of mail with ApexPerformance before ordering. Although they carry a bunch of different seats/vendors they indicated that the only seat that would fit well is the A4 standard. I visited a local vendor that had one in stock that I tried. It was smaller than the others but had great lateral support. I'm not sure about the dimensions on the original seats...

I think you'd be pushing it to squeeze in the wider versions if the regular ones are the ones that Speed Direct shipped. They only cleared the center on mine by about 1/2 inch, and the door by less than that. But my Vette is a '70 and others might be somewhat different.
