Default $160 Transmission Mount

So I called my local dealer the other day for a rubber tranny mount. I wanted to stick to GM if the price wasn't too bad. I was thinking maybe $30. He calls me back and says it's a discontinued item but he can get me one for $150 plus shipping and tax. WTF? Ordered one from Zip for $14. I might just use the money I saved to buy a spare and make a down payment on a hoist if I need to keep replacing them.

What's your dealer horror story?

That's insane. It's a stock standard mount! Even my Energy Suspension mount kit (which included the motor mounts) didn't come to that...I paid roughly $100 for poly mounts, and that included shipping!

local GM dealer here wanted 275 Euros (I'm guessing about 350$) for a standard 1 wire O2 sensor

There's people out there that would pay that just to keep it "original"
isn't that why all these correctly restored cars bring such a high price.

I bought a rubber mount for $6 at Kragen. The entire Energy Suspensions poly kit I paid ~$80

I know the O2 sensors can be expensive, but still...that seems a little steep to me.

When I told the counter guy that his price was out of this world he immediately dropped to 100 Euros... that's a 20% reduction..if they can give you that much reduction without much hesitation they are making a bundle off those parts... A narrow band lambda sensor is not an expensive part..a wide bad..yes...these old tech things..nah!
