Side exhaust covers
In looking around at the online catalogs, I see that there are now metal repops of the 69 sidepipe covers, for a scary price. What happened to the old fiberglas repops? They were reasonably priced, but I don't see them anywhere anymore.

Hmm...time to start looking for a used set of the 'glas covers. Can I shove 3.5" pipes under there?

Pretty sure 3 or 3.5 will fit, but there is no insulator.
You don't wanna get the covers TOO close to the pipes.
I hear you on the price ... I got a deal and paid $300 for a full set of used originals.
Someday I will rechrome them.

I was thinking of a few ways to shield the pipes from the covers. If the pipes will fit under there, I'll come up with some way to make it work.
Lucky you.

I have 3 inch pipes with 4 inch round mufflers on them and the 4 inches actually lay against the covers but I used that thermo-tek mat with the foil finish on one side and glued it in with red silicone and they work great. You can drive the car for an hour and the covers are barely warm to the touch. No burnt legs here!!
