Do I need new engine? for 79 vette
I was replacing my headers when I saw some antifreeze coming from the manifold bolt hole in by the # cylinder. I am not an expert, but this can not be good. Engine is stock w/ AC any suggestions on what could be wrong? Hole seem to have been drilled out and retapped. I think when I tightened the bolt it may have cracke throuh to back of the hole. Any ideas on finding a cost effective fix. I was OK with the stock performance, but would not mind a few small upgrades. Would like to use existing headers, valve covers, etc....

that might just be a head gasket or manifild gasket, not a big deal, where exactly is it coming from?
At most all you should need is a rebuild, at best, intake gasket set, easy stuff.
Take a pic if you can.

at the rear of the bolt front most bolt hole looking at the engine from passenger side fender, noticed a light trickle. the same bolt hole used for AC bracket. I finished mounting the headers and tried to start the, but it would not start then just startedto gring as if somthing the crank was stuck.

soulds like a head gasket blown. Pull the plug for that cyl and turn it over, if your leaking into the cylindar it will blow out the plug hole. Next thing is pull the intake and heads and install new gaskets, do not try to start it until you have this fixed.
