New Hoses-Broken Part Rant
Last weekend I blew a hose and had to be towed. Since the heater hoses were original, I figured that they were the problem and ordered them...and while I'm at it...I will change the water valve.
I finally got around to it today. Put a presure tester to it and coolant started spewing from a holw in the heater hose. No probelm, got the parts. I'll fix it.
I took the surge tank out with the hoses so I could slice them off. No problem.
Put the new hoses on the water valve...and snap! The new valve breaks off of the bracket.
Got it from ZIP. Made in Mexico. They'll be getting it back. I ended up cleaning the old one up since it tested fine.
That just pizzes me off. Darn thing must have been glued together to snap that easily!
OK. I feel better now. Car back together. Filled it with coolant and pressure tested again. No problem. Held 15lbs for 10 minutes. Ran it for 1/2 hour. No leaks...temps right where they are suppose to be.
