I have seen many posts on the removal of the Differential Bushings, but none on the installation.
Main problem is when I try to bolt the Crossmember (with bushings installed) to the protruding male steel part, I cannot get them to seat together. It looks like I still have another half inch to go. I snugged the bolts up as far as I felt comfortable, but any more and I think they wil strip.
Also - I used a large socket and a hammer to install the differential Crossmember bushings. All went well, but I did notice that the center metal portion has very slightly dislodged a section of the rubber (in a semi circular pattern). These were not new bushings and the bending of the tabs and all went well.
What should they be lubed with - I thought any lube would damage the rubber. Do you mean lube the bushings when inserting into the Crossmember - or when lifting the Crossmeber Assembly up into the frame mating area?
There is no weight on the frame yet - maybe I sdhould wait to perform this install.
Last - How do you know when the assembly is installed all the way up and seated properly?
