Default hood alignment

My 82 has a hood issue. The rear driver's side rubs the fender when I close it. The gap on the passenger side is ok. How do I align it?

With a helper to hold the hood open, losen the hinge mount bolts on the hood slightly to allow for some movement. Just on one side at a time might be enough to allow some movement.
The holes in the hinge are larger than the bolts for adjustment. The hood will have to move to the front on the passenger side so I recomend only to losen this side first. Move it a small amount at a time, and test the gap. It is a good idea to remove the strikers from the hood latch to keep it from getting stuck shut because they will require adjustment later when you have the hood gap set. When all is good retighten the mounting bolts, and adjust the latch strickers.
I did it by myself with this tool I made.

Default Wrong pics!!

I'm Sorry I posted the wrong pics for the adjustment explanation (too many peole in my office asking questions while I was typing) Those pics are for adjusting the hood to the surround by moving the core support when installing a new hood surround, but the hood can be adjusted following the previous instructions that I posted.
The hood latch mechanism bolts can be losened, and the latches moved easily with alot of adjustment. The strikers can be losened, and moved, but only slightly. The latches can be adjusted much more. When adjusting the latches it is a good idea too park the wiper in the up position. So you can get to the access holes to the latches if you need to.
