can anyone clear up the issue of certain tire shine chemicals destroying tires? I've heard people say silicone will eat tires so you should stay with petroleum based products, and I've heard the exact opposite too. I've actually had a set of tires start to lose air from sidewall cracking that I think was from petroleum based tire shine(not excessively used by any means). Is it just a case of certain brands interacting with certain types of tires, or is there a more general rule here?
