Hey everyone, my 75 coupe is comming along! I pulled the tired motor and tranny out and just need to finish repainting the engine bay before shoving the new powerplant in. I originally planned on building my stock 350 into a strong 383, but the neighbor to my shop had a new crate 350/350 hp he was willing to sell for $1500 with shorty headers and a 700 carb. I couldn't pass the deal up, especially when saving $ is a high priority to a college student, haha. I also picked up a new rebuilt Muncie 4-speed for $700. I should have the car running in two more weekends (I'll be in Talladega next weekend), and I can't wait! Once I get it runnin' and on the road, I plan on customizing the interior by changing it to black leather with silver suede inserts and a few other touches. I have A LOT of blocking and sanding to do also before I repaint the car metalic blue (I think I'm going with the blue found on new Nissan 350z's) with a silver-metalic stripe down the cowl. I'm enjoying the hell out of this project! Here are a few pics of the progress, let me know what ya think!
Man! You're moving right along. Looks great so far. Some guys have all the luck . $1500 crate motor? $700 muncie? YOU SUCK! Any idea where I can find a used Borg Warner?

I know of one, but its in pieces now, haha. I took it completely apart just trying to learn it and getting ready to rebuild it, but then I found that Muncie . I can't wait to get it on the road though! Is that your vert in your avatar?
Trent, That pic in the avatar is a photoshop job that Redbad did for me.
Redbad, I've gotten more questions about that picture than I could ever have imagined. I get at least 2 e-mails a week asking about how I did that. I have a buddy that says it looks like crap and that it's a "gangsta" ride. I guess you either have to love it or hate it with no in between.

Well, I have to agree.... it is ...... cough cough.... extreme.....
Photoshop is awesome, I'd never install those 26" blings on a car.... well, maybe they would fit a Hummer.... 14X26" rims with 345-60-26 should make that monster look good.....

Trent I would be interested once you get the motor back in just how well those shorty headers fit, I was not aware that they slid in the C3 vette's without mods.

Haha, I hear ya there. I wanted to go with something that had a little more power, like a 383, but this seemed like the best bang for the buck. Either way, its a big improvement over the L-48 that was in it. Its probably for the better too, or at least for my licence, I tend to have a lead-foot, haha.

I should have it in the car Saturday, and I'll let ya know. I kept the old just in case, but since these headers came with the motor, I figured I'd give em a shot. I'll have my hands full putting the dash back in after replacing the heater core too .
