A divorced choke set up is one where the choke plate is connected to a coil that is mounted to the side of the carburetor. As the coil heats up, the coil expands, opening the choke plate.
Sorry, but I beg to differ. The divorced choke has the bimetallic spring mounted on the intake manifold and operates the choke plate by a linkage rod. That's why it's called "divorced", the sensor/actuator is separate from the carb.

That is correct. There is a small tin housing under the carb, on the intake manifold by the #6 cylinder. the rod goes from inside that tin housing, straight up to the side of the Quadrajet carb. It's divorced because the bimetal spring is completely seperated from the carb.
