Default Need JunkYard Help

Is there anyone in California or Arizona that is close to a junkyard that might have some late 60s or early 70s GM cars? Or can provide me with names of such junk yards
I am looking for a part.
PM me if you can help.
Thank you in advance
Kurt

Here is a junk yard that specializes in Corvette parts in Phoenix that I use occasionally.

Thanks chevy 69
I just sent them an e-mail and filled out their parts request form.
Their website indicates they usually respond within 1-2 business days.
Hope they have the part I need.
Kurt

The part is the bracket and clamp that hold the carb idle solenoid to the carb for cars with A/C. Mine is a 68 coupe smallblock with A/C.
A member of this forum has one and wanted to sell me the solenoid and clamp for $850.00. (That's right, eight hundred fifty dollars) Must be solid gold for that price and I already have an NOS solenoid in the box; I just need the clamp that mounts to the side of the Rochester carb.

I get a lot of used Corvette parts from Gruhala Enterprises in DeSoto, MO. They're right down the road from my parents' house. Gary is a great guy to deal with.

Batman,
Have you an e-mail address for Gary Gruhala so I could shoot him a quick e-mail?
Thank you,
Kurt

Last time I talked to the guys at Vette Visions (Bristol, PA), there eight 68's in their salvage yard. One may have the part you're looking for.
I don't have the phone# handy, you may try the Yellow Pages if the other leads don't pan out

It's usually easier to reach him by phone. Any online phone book (yahoo or anywho.com) should have a listing for Gruhala Enterprises.

682xlr8,
Just tried search in Google, Yellow Pages, and White Pages for Vette Visions in Bristol PA.
No listing

If you find their number at your convenience, drop me a PM.
Thanks,
Kurt

Isn't that just a standard Chevy part?I would think any old crappy bracket off of any old crappy Q-jet should do the trick, especially if you are using it to mount a nitrous solenoid...

May I ask why you are looking in CA and AZ when you live in MA?
Is it a Cali car specific item?
Maybe you can look on Ebay for a crappy core with the part you need
Actually Im not exactly sure what part you are looking for but DR Rebuild has some solenoid brackets...
I may be way off but I'm just trying to help

Come on, Dean ... a MA-hole like us ??
Live in NH, but grew up on south shore MA.

Kurt ... maybe Corvette Country ... just outside Concord NH.
Go take a peak at my old list of vette junkyards in this thread (post #8):
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=615912

I'm pretty sure the two entries in Peabody are no longer around.
Corvette Country is about 10 entries down the list.

Maybe because many cars sold in AZ (and CA) have A/C? Just a guess.

J and D Corvettes in Bellflower, Ca. They advertise in Corvette Fever and have a webpage. They have a lot of used Corvette parts. That idle solenoid bracket you're after is a hard to find part. Also, the NCRS monthly magazine is a good way to find hard to get parts. Even if someone isn't offering to sell the part you want, call them anyhow and maybe they'll have it. Worked for me once.
............

Why California/Arizona Corvette boneyards? Because their cars tend to be from the Southwest US and therefore the parts are less likely to have rust problems. I bought a used 68 door latch from Paragon and returned it..it was terribly rusty. I bought a nice one from J&D that only had superficial corrosion....and it was cheaper. $250 from Paragon, $150 from J&D.
