My compressor has a pressure switch that is supposed to turn the compressor off once the pressure in the tank reaches the pre-set pressure.
OK..... it doesn't say what that pressure is. It doesn't say if that setting can be adjusted .... Today I pressurized the tank to see when it would shut off..... well it doesn't --> It went up to 130psi and did not shut off
I expected the switch to be set to around 90-100psi. When should it shut the compressor off ?
The manual that came with the compressor is pretty much useless. It says that the wiring should be done by a licenced electrician, that some models come with a power cord and some don't... it also tells you that you can operate air tools with this compressor... (wow, didn't know that) .....that's about it.... useless....

I'm going to guess 150. I have mine set at around 175.
The compressor will run much longer to gain much fewer psi at higher pressures.
Really depends on the cfm@psi rating, but unless you need a lot of flow, try setting it at the least pressure you can get away with. Most air tools max out at 100psi, so as suggested, on at 105 and off at even 115 would be okay.
I've been doing a lot of sandblasting, so I like to run at around 130. My big ol' Curtiss has no problem recharging and shutting off even while the blaster is running. Dog, I love that thing.

OK... that's what I wanted to hear. My paint gun needs 25 psi at the inlet, therefore I don't need >130psi in the tank...... how do I set the pressure switch ?
Take the lid off and there should be instructions under the inside of lid. Most are adjustable, for both cut in and shut off, but not all. Should take 5/16 socket to adjust. If you reset one, then you must reset the other. Can't remember too well.
If you don't use much air, keeping 135 will just keep it from kicking in longer. I wouldn't go below 90psi.
Mine is a craftsman its been welded with J B weld dozens of times to keep the tank from leaking All the air out the bottom, but it has A **** to set the pressure with if yours does not have a **** they offer a dryer and a ****(to control pressure) as an Extra at Most paint shops .Hope this Helps
