I Am Putting In New Seat Covers Door Panels And Carpetin My 72 After Thr Repaint, All My Plastic Moulding Id Good But Looks Discolored From Its Age, Do I Use The Vinyl Dye On That? Or Just Regular Paint?
I redid my interior 100% last winter - new carpet, new seat covers, and dyed all molding pieces at the time. It came out great and many tell me that it looks brand new! I was very pleased. I ended up using Corvette America Interior Dye but think you can get the same stuff for a few dollars less through Willcox - http://www.yankeelady.com/willcox/
Just be sure to scrub your old pieces with water and a good degreaser first, Simple Green diluted with water worked excellent for me. Get off all the old grim and let them dry for a day, lightly prime them, let them dry for a day and then build up a few coats of dye, light coats each time. You will not be let down!! It will take much more dye that what you expect. I went though roughly 6 or 7 cans of dye and 3 or 4 cans of primer but the whole thing turned out very nice. While your at it, get a new screw set and it all comes together great. The hardest part to remove in the upper dash pad and driver side gauges since you have to slightly drop the steering column.
