Finally checked the birdcage
I bought my car sight unseen, and didn't even know what a birdcage was at the time of purchase, let alone how to check it.
After seeing so many horror stories on here I had been putting it off, well now almost 2 years after purchase I finally checked (because I am replacing the windscreen), it is amazing how long it takes to get all the trim off without breaking/bending anything, and why did the designers have to make everything so interconnected, you can't just take one section off you have to pull everything off lol.
Anyway the car was meant to have been kept in garages its whole life, thats what I was told by the previous owner (aren't we all). Lucky for me I think he was, quite refreshingly, telling the truth because apart from a bit of the expected surface rust the birdcage is fine.
Sorry I was so releived I had to share.
And I would also like to say thanks everyone for the education I have received from this forum (both the good and the bad
)! Cheers
