I want to replace the rear spring in my 82 with a stiffer one. What do you guys think of the different rates available?

Just removed the #315 composite spring in my '79 and installing a #340. Like the way the comp. reacts more swiftly than the steel.

i went with the vb dual mount spring. no lie , it takes less than 1/2 hour to change the rate from too soft to ultra stiff.

The way I see it, the suspension systems are designed to be balanced. If you up the rear, you should consider upping the front to bring neutral handling back to the car.

You could end up with oversteer/understeer situation if not done right.

installed a VBP #330 fiberglass spring two years ago. dramatic improvement in handling. you'll probably want to replace shocks. VBP sells shocks made to be compatible with composite spring. ride tends to be a bit "bouncy" with fiberglass spring.
