The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I sent him a brand new in the box emergency brake handle assembly and many others on this forum sent parts as well.
I don't know what ever happened to the project. He said he would keep the forum posted on status but I never saw it.
E-mail or PM me if you want his contact information

In fact I woulda been seriously PO'd.
We began the 'Vette project in earnest last year. We got donated a broken front-end and a bent frame along with a broken wiper door assy(for which we paid several hundred dollars in shipping), a good used engine short block, a good pair of exhaust manifolds and a new e-brake lever. I thank everyone for their donations.
Shortly after beginning repair to the front-end, it became apparent that this front end would not work, as the piece it was missing is not available. If you re-read the thread you will see that I was asking about this piece and nobody had any answers. So since we did not have the money for a new front-end, we put the car aside until we could get some funds for the front-end. Here is the last entry in the original thread, which was locked:
>>>>>>>>Have you seen the pics of the kids fixing the front end? We are kind of stuck right now for several reasons.
1- We don't have the 'glass strip that goes across the top of the cowl that connects the two fenders. Until we have this, or another alternative, there is little else we can do. We also do not have the funding to go out and buy a core support, all the bracketry, etc., for the engine compartment.
2- We are finishing a previous project (72 GSX) that will help fund the 'Vette project when it is auctioned off. We are a small, self-funded high school and do not have the means that a large public school would. Until the other project is auctioned off we simply do not have the money to go full bore on the 'Vette.
3- We also do customer cars, trucks, tractors and whatever else they bring us. We offer affordable paint service and repair for the community, so we are a busy bunch.
We have big plans for the 'Vette. It will be a Baldwin-Motion replica w/a built small block 350, t400 and all the trimmings. It will have a saddle interior and will be Brandshatch green with gold Motion stripes, side pipes, Big block hood, Coke bottle mags and the works. We are very excited about it.
We certainly appreciate all the support and encouragement, especially from those who followed through on their donations of parts. Others have used this forum to try to sell us things above market value. There are all kinds I suppose.
Things are just creeping along right now until we get that piece for the front end. So far nobody has even said that one is available anywhere. The boys will finish the clip when we get this piece.<<<<<<
We did finish the GSX clone at the end of May, but the school was in desperate straights for funding to keep the doors open. So they put 5g back into the shop and used to rest to keep the doors open and pay salaries.
Shortly thereafter, a kind man from New Mexico donated an "almost finished" 1963 Lincoln suicide door convertible, complete with e new leather interior, and thousands in NOS parts and rechrome. However, it was not as "almost finished" as was advertized and we have been time, and money, into it ever since. This car is worth $40,000 finished, plenty of money to do a nice job on the 'Vette and support the school too. The administration of the school decided to put a few thousand into finishing the Lincoln and then using part of that money to finish the 'Vette. We look forward to beginning work on the 'Vette in February or March (possibly sooner). The kids really want to work on the 'Vette, since to them it is much cooler than a '63 Lincoln (even though they are beginning to appreciate it).
Sorry I did not keep up with the thread very well before it was locked. Also, my mail box was full so I did not receive many of the emails that were sent. I did know how small the box was or i would have erased it more often. But rest assured we are not crooks and it is not a ruse. If anyone has a problem we will return the donated parts, postage paid. I want to thank TXshark for his kindness and patience, as well as his encouragement.
P.S.- We are not Republicans and do not teach politics to the children. And any child that is not happy here is kindly sent home with our best wishes.
