Default Hazard Warning ****

I replaced the Hazard Warning **** on the steering column of my '72 but found it didn't fit on very well. Found that the screw which holds it onto the column was partially stripped. Went searching in the garage but could not find one in the right size. Looked on Dr Rebuild, Ecklers etc but without luck. Where would one buy a correct screw please.

I had to purchase 100 of these from McMaster Carr to replace mine. They are made of stainless steel. They seemed to fit o.k. If you would like one, I can send an extra one to you. I'm just not sure the best method for shipping a single bolt to Tasmania.

Hobby shops and some hardware stores carry these screws. There are alot of uses for this size screw in R/C stuff.

Default Hazard Warning Screw

Thank you for your help it's a fiddly screw and not easy to find a replacement. It does not seem to have been used in any other part of the car. Have sent a PM to Brian and thank you for your time.

The female thread in the steering column to accept the hazard warning **** screw from 1969 through 1976 was a 6-32 UNC.

In 1977 and later, it was most likely changed to an equivalent metric size thread.
