I just picked up a car (non-Corvette) with an aftermarket overdrive unit installed. It says hone-o-drive on it. I believe they were popular in the late 60's-70s with muscle car owners who had cars with very low rear end gearing. Baldwin/Motion cars offered them as an option, and I see some C3 Corvettes were fitted with them back then.
I'm interested in manuals etc. Anybody have info or info source ideas, I'd appreaciate hearing them. Thanks
Great! Mine has a radiator/cooler plumbed to it and a tube apparently for putting some lube liquid into the unit and cooler. Any idea what that lube should be? Gear Lube? Motor Oil?

e-mail Joel Rosen and ask him, but he would probably charge you for the information,,,,thats all I have to add, sorry. Peace,,,Moosie
Hone-o-drives are no longer available. The Hone company went out of business quite a while ago.
I do know of another company, Gear Vendors, that is in business now that seems to offer similar, more modernized, overdrive products however. See what they offer here: http://www.gearvendors.com/index.html
And their product specifically for 4 speed Muncies. Will it fit under a C2/C3? Looks like it just replaces the tail housing. http://www.gearvendors.com/hrgm4sm.html
Joel Rosen responded to my email stating that he had no documentation or knowledge of a source. My local librarian located an issue of May 1969 issue of Hot Rod Magazine with an article on it that she is getting for me. Thanks
