It's sad that the Lancaster County Corvette Club has these shows, and really overcharge to show a car, what was it this year??? They do this under the guise of supporting a crippling disease charity, but the rate they charge is prepostorous. When I was in the club in 1985, they were charging 15-20$ to show your car in the local mall, the other classic car show there was 5$!!! And of course, if you weren't on the level of everyone else in the club, they more or less blackballed you when it came to their very "special" awards ceremonies..................Kind of why I have the attitude I possess toward "Vette" people.........

In our area they are all 20 to 30 dollars for vette shows, but heres a good on went to muscle car madness at York Pa. The admission was 12 each for wife and 12 for me.When we got into show area we parked with the york corvette club and they charged us 15 to be in the vette area. When trphies were awarded only club members won My friend had the nicest c3 there and didnt get as much as a 3rd .Thats why we go to more cruises they can have there vette shows its all politics

Last year the LCCC donated almost $30,000 to the Spina Bifada Association. This year we will donate a similar amount. Preregistered entrants paid only $15 and recieved a nice long sleeved shirt. I'm sure you paid more than that for a t shirt at some time in your life.
Last year we took a picture of everyone's car when they entered the field and by the end of the day they recieved their pic in a plastic frame.
We also had a DJ playing music all day. These kind of things cost $$.
The awards were based on peoples choice so everyone had an equal chance to get an award.
The price the park charges is over $1000 just to use the field. We have been holding the show there for quite a few years and it has always been a fun and successful show.
I'm sorry you had bad experiences with the club shows but many people feel differently.

You Mean POLITICS CHOICE......... "The awards were based on peoples choice so everyone had an equal chance to get an award. "
no all that means is club members voting for club members........

Across the highway from this park where the show was held is an indoor shopping mall. Back in 92 I put my 69 in there just to spend the weekend looking at people and having people come up to me. It was Sat afternoon when the Vette club toadies came to me and asked me for my judging sheet, I replied "what for? They said "to judge your car" and I replied "I don't want my car judged!" Well, you would have thought I shot one of Jerry's kids, they couldn't imagine that a club member would not want his car judged!!
I also used to go to another local show, and when told the fee was 7$, I merely stated that I wanted to sit there for an afternoon and watch people and not be judged, the organizer (who I knew) said "you will get a trophy, everyone does". This really baffled me, I said "so in other words it's not a competition, you're buying your own trophy?!?!? I don't want your trophy". He let me go in.
As for the LCCC rep who spoke up here, why have live music?!?!?! Do you feel you need to entertain people and distract them from the vehicles?? Lose the band and the cheap shirts (cost you 3$ to get) and then lower your entry fees...............90% of the time the live music sucks anyway!!!!!!!!
What really blows is, the cruise nights around here also charge small fees, maybe not all, but the ones I tried to go to did. One place at a local bowling alley had a live band, and WOWWWWWWWW a pic of your car driving in. PLLLLLLLLLLLEASE

we had the same, everyone entered got a picture of their car on a nice wooden plauqe. we also had a D J , our club members were only able to win 3 awards total for the entire club. the best in each catagory, and theese were judged by another corvette club, plus we raised over 5K for special olympics and also had a very successfull blood drive at the show. I personally did not meet one snooty person, I actually met a couple of new friends.

Participants choice is a joke I heard hey this is so and so s car and where is Bobs vette etc instead of looking for a nice one its looking for club members Skyline drive vette club had same problem and attendance dropped now they dont vote they can win but cant be judged by their own club

supposed to be fun, it gets overly competitive, & i'm not complaining, as i almost always come home with something first second or third everytime at any type of show i attend, but i wouldnt care either if i didnt, its all about good stress free fun cars, girls, food, music & new friends , all the things that you dont get while at work !!!! Sometimes I just have to think about how lucky I am to be
alive,
living in the United States,
able to walk,
not going to bed worrying about my door getting kicked in,
owning not only one Corvette but three, not to mention a bundle of muscle cars,
I just have to look past all the busy bodies that get caught up in charging too much to put my car in a show and sit back and SMILE
