Default 69 power window alignment

I've noticed thst my passenger side power window comes out of alignment after closing the door. You can move it forward by hand but it will not stay in place. The entire window can be moved by hand about half an inch front to rear. What gives?

You have about 6 different adjustments for windows.
There are adjusting bolts for:
1) Windows being tilted
2) Rolling up too far
3) Correcting the gap between the window forward edge anad the pillar
4) Glass being too far outboard or inboard
5) Window going down too far
6) And window being outside blow out clip when door is closed.

If you need detailed instructions, I can scan and email them to you.

Current issue of Corvette Enthusiast magazine has a photo how-to on door glass alignment. Good reading.

Glass adjustment is in AIM and all the cheap manuals (Haynes,Chiltons).
I would be suspicious of it moving front-back after being raised fully.
It could be a loose adjustment bolt, or it could be a broken roller.
It might be worthwhile to study the picture that Edzred72 put up.
Inspect the rollers before doing all the adjustments. In his pic, there
is a big roller in the left vertical track - bolted to glass, a roller/slider
that links the right vertical track and the long horizontal track.
On the regulator, there are 3 small rollers - two in the long track
and one in the short track. These rollers should all fit tightly in the
tracks with no wiggle. Also, check the bolts that hold regulator to door.

Just noticed in the picture that the ground wire is tek screwed or bolted to the doors metal frame. On my '69 the ground wire goes directly to the motor. Kind of hard to see the connection point unless you get down low to look at the motor. Its towards the geared shaft, on the bottom.
