Default Coloring rusty brake booster

I have a C5 and a C3, but my C3 needs tons of work..
thought I'd write in...

Ok the C3 Brake booster works and all, but I want to remove it (eyesore) to sand it and paint it. Planning on sanding, priming grey and then spraying with engine orange enamel or silver (Hi heat)

Question 1. : How do I remove the brake booster without brake fluid spilling everywhere ?
Question 1.5 : Is there fluid in the booster or just in the reservoir (master cylinder) ?
Question 2 : Is it a one day job to remove it and put it back ?
Question 3 : Anyone here done it ?
Question 4 : What should I NOT do, incase you guys have done it before...

thanks in advance

OK, this is one of the more unpleasant jobs because its a PITA to get to the nuts under the dash.
#1 Brake fluid eats paint, be careful, suck the juice out of the MC with a turkey baster or large syringe, clean with a rag. Remove MC
#1.5 juice only in MC
#2 its a full day 1 12pack job
#3 yes I have done it
#4 don't get in a hury, don'y lose the jesus clip from the clevis pin, don't break anything.

Bonus: remove the drivers seat

I've done it before..........my dash was out so it wasn't so bad. Those nuts under there are tough to get too.

wouldnt it be easier to mask all the wires and other parts around it and the front panel, windscreen etc, and sand it and spray it while it is still in the engine bay ? (without taking it out)

that way i guess I might only be able to color the top and the sides, but the underneath will be unpainted and rusty still... hmm...

half a$$ed i know... but the thought of the dash removal and all those 1000 screws turn me off..

If you are going through all the trouble of removing the dash and MC/power brake unit, way not just replace the power unit. They only cost $100-150?

If you plan to keep the car, you don't want to be doing this again...IMHO

Yep, remove the seat. I've removed the steering wheel also, not that hard and it makes working under the dash easier. It's just the one nut on the top side that's a PITA. Takes a couple extensions and a flex joint but it comes out.
