Has anyone had there TTII rims chromed? Mine are aluminum and I'm sick and tired of polishing theme. So I was wondering if there was anyone in the ny Long Island area that did a quality chrome job. If not I think I'm going to buy new chrome and black ones.
Dont chrome, look into a sealer, something like Zoops seal, works great on polished aluminum, seals it so cleaning is just as simple as hosing it off.
IMHO chrome over aluminum on wheel is not the best solution, a chip results in bare aluminum, which is then open to the elements, will oxidize and then thats how the chrome peels.
Scratch chrome?? you cant polish out, scratch aluminum and some wet and dry a good polish and elbow grease, as good as new.
I hated polishing my alum. wheels. I bought a set of chrome wheels for my 78 from Eckler's. It changed the hole look. Polished alum will never look as good as CHROME. I have 67 side pipes and the covers are alum. It looked OK but, it's looks a lot better chromed with the chrome wheels
