What is the difference between the True Flex bumpers that are on Ebay and the Flex-Fit bumpers that Ecklers sell. Ecklers are about $60 dollars more. I just want to purchase the best ones.
I believe these are 2 different makers. One is made by ACI and one is made by Toledo. I used the True Flex on my father's 75 and went with the Flexi fit on my 74 because the Flexi fit offered the true two piece just like the original. Both bumpers fit great and have a little flex.
Bought both at the same time and saved like $150.oo they went on slow but both the front and the back lined up puurrrfect I would buy the toledo ones again.I used my old hardware but it was not all rusted up I used my bench grinder and cleaned up all the bolts .
You didn't tell us the year? As of May Ecklers was buying from Toledo-Pro. Both Toledo-Pro and ACI make flex style bumpers (there may be others). On some bodies they fit perfect, others not so perfect. Rear bumpers are usually no problem, and front bumpers on '73-'74 are easy. The '75 and later front bumpers don't fit as well due to the additional curves across the front and the inner reinforcements. You won't know the fit until you try. The '75 and later front inner structure will need trimming before the bumper will fit over all of it.
I prefer the regular fiberglass bumpers because I feel they will accept fillers long term without cracking better than flex style, just my opinion. And if the flex style needs filler to match the body (depending on the individuals level of perfection), you may as well use the regular fiberglass version to begin with.
In my opinion, ACI has the better quality mold and closer to the original OEM size.
