L82 manifold
does the L82 (79) manifold have dual bolt patterns for either spread bore or square bore carbs. someone told me it does. haven't pulled carb yet and would like to know in advance. thanks for any info.
also, if i switch from Q-Jet to edelbrock performer or Holley carb what adapter, parts, etc. will i need in order to connect my stock 79 throttle linkage (auto trans and cruise)? thanks.

No, it does not. It was designed for a spread-bore Q-Jet.
Can't help with the other questions.

Buy the Edelbrock manifold to go with the Performer carb.

You might run into hood clearance problems with the adaptor plate.

adapter plates suck...imho...What's wrong with your Q-Jet that you want to change carbs?

I agree, I had a Edelbrok for a while then had my Q-jet restored. Works much better and seems to have more power.

An adapter should not be used even if you had clearance which you don't.
