After messing with the carb jets and things and soaking your hands with gas they smell like gas. No matter what I use to wash them the gas smell lingers for quite a while. The wifey does not like the smell to much. Anything you use to cover up or remove the smell. I don't really care about the smell but others find it offensive.
Ha Ha Ha, my wife had the same problem when I would come in from the garage. She brought home a small shell shaped (about 2"x2") piece of stainless steal. I wash my hands as normal, then rewash with soap and piece of SS. No more odor.

i wrap them in dollar bills so she goes shopping and i can play some more
I would have the problem with filling the tank on my Diesel truck or my tractor. Diesel spouts always leak and no matter where you fill up, your hands stink. I just started keeping a good pair of gloves in the side pocket of my door and I use them everytime I fill up... Works great.. It should work good for gas also.
Intersting solutions. I will try some of them. Diesel fuel is the worst. I used to work on the GM diesels back in the early 80s. That was almost impossible to get the smell off.
Fast Orange is about the best that I've found. Liquid dish detergent is a close second. I don't think that orange, vinegar or lemon will do anything for gas odor, nor will tomato juice. These will work better for water soluble odors.

Put some Vanilla extract in some baby oil. After you wash your hands, rub it on. Gets rid of the smell. Chuck
