i like STNRAY !
I'm also trying to decide on a personalized plate here in jersey.
How did you find out what plates were available? did you just go to the dmv and spit out names and they said yes or no?

I just got my personalized plate for my 1971 Vette
68NJONV454,
Don't know about New Jersey, but here in Massachusetts you go on the Registry of Motor Vehicles website and punch in 5 choices for vanity plates and it tells you which ones are available and you pick one and they hold it for 30 days for you.
Jersey may have something similar. Try their website
Kurt
Michigan has a website to enter a proposed personal license plate and it will inform you if it is available. It doesn't reserve the plate for you and the Secy of State can reject the plate when you order it in person. Mine? C3 RV, of course.

Fl has a website that you can search for available tag names either regular of specialty. You type the request and the data base responds with availibilities in various tags...neat huh?

Unless "DUNTOV" is avail
just checked Duntov is taken, but Duntov1 or Duntov2, etc is availiable. Limitied to 7 characters on the reg FL plate nad 5 on the college and specialty plates
It is avail in CT but its about 2X the price for registration
Im not sure any non Corvette people would understand it though...
I went to the CT site... they have way too many designs avail but heres the DUNTOV plate...Conserve Wildlife. If it said "Conserve The United States" I would have went for it
It looks pretty cool...

Made my decision..STNRAY
So I took a plannned vacation day today to get some tire work done on daily driver, run some errands etc
BUT most of all my first stop was the TAG AGENCY and guess what? All the government offices are closed today in observance of Veteran's Day....dohllll
Try again Monday
Considering a personalized tag for my 72. I have listed the "available" choices from the DMV. thanks
Mark
Do you have an option in Florida to use an original year (1972) plate? We have that in in Michigan as well as choice of historic or personalized plates. However the original year plate is lifetime, no renewal. The other choices require renewals. Saves money and hassles.

In FL you can register a same yr tag, takes a while for the DMV to resaerch it. I have a 72 tag with the letters CV which was for commercial vehicle or it could be used as CorVette...Also you have to pay renewals every year...
