Default Vendor Experience ??

Has anyone had any experience with 'Corvette Parts Man' in Fort Lauderdale Florida?
Thank you,
Kurt

I live in Hollywood (next to Ft. Lauderdale). I have never heard of this guy. Is it a shop or Mail order? I can check it out for you if you have more information.

It is a mailorder but their website shows a shop building of some kind.
I just spoke with the owner about an ignition coil for my 68 and he wasn't overly enthusiastic about answering my questions. I have three coils I have purchased (from others) that are not visually correct for my car so I wanted to be sure that it was exactly what I needed for judging purposes. He acted like I was an inconvenience. Price of coil was $80 plus $15 for shipping.
For $95.00 I thought I was entitled to a little customer service.

Kurt,

I hate to throw darts, but you asked the question. This name rings a bell...I have this weird bit of memory that this might be the latest in a long line of names for this operator, perhaps something about no brake caliper core refunds?

I may be way off base, I hope if you have made a transaction that you get the right part.

i live in hollywood fl also, and i am familiar with them. they have been around a long time and aren't one of your "big name, big ad campaign" type places. personally, i would do business with gold coast corvettes in ft lauderdale ahead of both the corvette man and art's. gold coast has the best reputation locally and they are extremely knowledgable. the guy to talk to is ZEN (the owner). he is a bit rough around the edges until he gets to know you, but he and his employees are top knotch in every corvette aspect. but that's just my opinion.

as an alternative, i would suggest you get in touch with dr. rebuild. he carries a lot of correct NOS parts and his staff is also excellent. if they have the part, you can bet it will be correct.

you might also try these folks: http://www.corvettedept.com/aboutus.html

they know their stuff also.

For what you are looking for, you might ask this question on the NCRS site. They may have a better feel for who has the best parts for judging, and who cares enough to help you that way.

Kurt, Try Goat Hill Restorations out of Long Beach, California. He reproduces correct coils with proper numbers, etc. I don't have the phone number handy but you could probably Google him. He advertises in Hemmings. I met him at Spring Carlisle a few years back. He does nice work and does many more things than just coils.

I bought a Delco #202 coil from these guys for my 71'. Looks just like the one I took off with the correct #202 number stamp, but I'm no NCRS expert. Maybe give them a call.
