Thats terrible good thing you have good insurance... now you need a nice chainsaw
Funny you should mention....However, the tree probably saved me THOUSAND$$$$....car probably would have ended up in a neighbor's living room, no kidding. But, I was eyeing the Stihl!!!
When you talk to USAA, you can explain to them how much money you saved them by hitting a tree instead of putting a drive thru in your neighbor's living room. I am sure they will get the big picture and send out a check pronto. Sorry about the Vette, it do suck when something like that happens.
You know, friend...Sears sells universal garage door opener remotes for $35. They are easy to set and program, and you can keep a unit in your Vette.
Another option...which I am doing...is installing Homelink in my Vette. I have procured a Homelink unit from a Ford Exploder and will be mounting it in the T just back from the rear view mirror. It even has a nifty message feature to play with.
I got HomeLink being installed on my vette also to avoid the hassle of searching for the remote garage door opener, etc.
It is only like $25 from Ebay and seems pretty simple to program/install.
You can even buy cool stuff to turn on things in your house via your Homelink remote. You can turn on the living room lights, or turn them out...porch lights, computer...anything that has a switch that plugs in. Cool huh?
Sorry to hear about your accident. I just readjusted the parking brake on mine last weekend. The same thoughts went through my head because my car is manual.
I just hate to see that. I feel terrable for you. I am also very suprised how easy you have gotten off on this board. I can't believe that no one has taken a cheap shot at you yet.... I want to be the first, but I will leave that honor to someone more deserving.
The insurance company will fix the body for you and you will have a very nice new paint job. Just fix everything else first so you don't drop a wrench on it when you get back from the body shop.
Good luck and now you have your first good vette story....
