Default How original does it have to be?

How much can I change my 75 without hurting the value?
I would like to install a cruise control and maybe put the chrome side mirrors on both sides. Right now, it has the sport mirror on the drivers side only and I can't find a matching one for this car for the passenger side. I bought it with a 78 (I believe) rear bumper on it. It is rubber and has a spoiler which was not offered for the 75 as far as I know.

IMHO it won't hurt the value. Besides, are you planning on making big bucks when you sell it? It ain't gonna happen any time soon, again, IMHO.

Unless you have a convertible I wouldn't worry about hurting the value of the car. There were almost 38,500 75's built so it's going to take a long time for them to be valuable in the collector market. Do whatever you want to the car and enjoy it. Life's short.

My son and I have an all-original 72 that is of interest to the collector market. We're putting a LS1 and a 6-speed trans into it and a Vette Brakes suspension with a composite rear spring. The original parts will end up in the shed and the next owner can do whatever he/she wants with it. It's also getting a 73 frame. The future owner can have the pile of rust that's holding the car together now.

if you bought a run of the mill post-chrome bumper C3 for "value", you may be having delusions.
IMO, just go for what YOU want in a 'vette, that way, it's TRULY "ORIGINAL"!

You don't have to do a "perfect" restoration; restore your Corvette to the condition that makes you happy.

On my 68, I won't modify anything that can't be unbolted and returned back to stock.
So I'd say go for it
