Default Hooker headers for $140 ?

I went to the neighborhood autoparts store (Aarons) here in Portland to pick up a Vacuum meter. While there, I asked a "Hey, you sell headers for SBC Corvettes?" the counter guys said "What brand you want?" I reply "Hooker Headers." He says "Yep, we've got em." I quickly retort "How much?" he promply replies "Hooker headers for $142.00."

I was thinking Huh? Everywhere I've read they are around $300. They're not chrome (which is fine by me as I don't want them chromed anyway) and they are full bore, long tube.

WOW...140 bones? Is this guy for real or am I still living in 1985?

Jeg's is about $160.+ on the Hooker Comp headers. So that's a good deal but not unbelievable. But always nice to save $30. or $40. (with shipping).

I hope you purchased them on the spot. I was buying wine for a dinner party and picked up a bottle that cost $18. the kid in the store marked them $8.00 I purchased a case. The guy at the counter told me you know this is an $18. bottle of wine mis-marked? I said yup I take the case. He sold it to me & quickly went over to the other bottles and started removing the red tag.

My Hooker Comps were $130 thru Summit a few years ago, so $140 doesn't sound bad at all

Summit sells them for $160.00. The $300.00 ones are for the ceramic coated ones or the Hooker Super Comps.
