Default Which sidepipe finish?

I'm getting ready to order a set of Hooker sidepipes. I live on the coast of Ga and I'm afraid the chrome will start to surface rust too quickly. That leaves Stainless and Jet -Hot sterling. Are the engine bay temps reduced that much with the coating to merit serious consideration?

Can't give you any real data, but all the magizines claim reduced temps. I have the ceramic coated on my 78'. There was a thread yesterday about the poor chrome plating that Hooker applies. Rust starts almost instantly. Do a quick search. Buy the way, Hookers ceramic is not as good as Jet Hot so you might consider buying from Jet (1300 bucks) or buy the black painted ones from summit and ship to Jet.
I found the thread:

I ordered mine straight from Jet Hot. Saved a lot of $$ over stainless. They look real nice.

Went Jet Hot. Love them! Look great, awesome product, and helpful customer service. I liked the nice touch of sending a thankyou card after your order as a follow up.

I'm sure the jet-hot is nice, but the pipes are still steel. When your front tires throw rocks and chip them, they will rust. I would go stainless.

Bought mine direct from Jet-Hot with the Sterling finish. They were cheaper than the Hooker headers and sidepipes from any other source (Summit, Jeg's, ect.). Love the finish and runs cooler than the chrome.
I believe I have a coupon at home for Jet-Hot if you are interested?

Default Cleaning Side Pipes

I have the Jet-Hot hooker headers and sidepipes. From the homework I did, chrome would always look better, but I went the ceramic finish. How do you clean the pipes? Scuff marks from A.. holes getting too close to my car (car doors) and shoe marks.

just use metal polish. as soon as i get my pipes back from jethot i always polish them 1st & then wax em, makes em shine a lot more. i polish em at least twice a summer chrome looks awesome till u start the engine up the 1st time & then they turn colors & then 4-6 years down the road they rust, no thanx
