This afternoon, finally got time to get back on my 78 Alum rad install...when I pulled the old C/B rad out,I dinged the outlet tube slightly on the A-arm bolt...so I removed the passenger side forward A-arm bolt/washer..and the Dewitts went in real easy with no interference on the A-arm...lucky ...
I taped cardboard to both sides of core to protect it while dropping it in(Tom Dewitts suggested this)
I'm going to go w/ Dewitts as well. Seems like the best choice. Think how cool she'll run out at Amboy now!!!
Can't wait...
Got to wrap this rad job up quick, because my pilot bushing went out on the 69...
Like to drove me crazy figuring that one out...I would get a "groan" sound right out the bellhousing/tranny area shifting at low rpm....even a little clutch chatter..intermittantly...never a dull moment...I'll just go ahead and stick a fresh clutch assy in while I'm at it..
Lookn' good! Sure looks like some nice wields around that fill cap...Muddy
Welds are excellant quality...beats the automated ones I've seen...
Got to get some distilled water and coolant tomorrow...maybe I'll fire that turkey up tomorrow afternoon...just got to install new water pump/hoses,rad seals,etc...

You managed to capture something that I could never get to show up and that's the lower hose connection position in relation to the stabilizer bar. If we move that tube up 1/4" it hits the fan shroud and down 1/4" it hits the bar.

Great Photo!
Mine is actually resting on the sway bar. But I'm also pretty sure my car was hit on that side at some point in the past, so the geometry is most likely off a bit. I slid the hose up enough so that it's resting on rubber instead of aluminum. Hopefully that'll be enough.

Tom...the outlet pipe actually came out centered between the shroud and sway bar...I took this next pic from underneath the vette..it's fuzzy, but shows clearance....your design works great..I had no issues with install..
I see rust on that A arm!!! Rich you slacker! Get to rebuilding that front suspension!
Hey kid...you capped on me when I posted pics as I was removing the old water pump/rad....since,I've cleaned up a little, but I'm not doing a complete re-paint until this engine takes a dump....so sorry to disappoint you...
Then...
Now...in process...
When I remove engine, then I'll do the whole banana...
