Dang it! just lost what has to be the smallest part...the choke rod clip. I used a magnified small pliers to pull it...put it in the magnetic bowl...and now can't find it!
We used to call those small clips "Jesus" clips because when we dropped it or misplaced it we'd say "Jesus where'd that clip go?"

I've done that on purpose a few times. Dropped a similar sized part to see where it might land in hopes of finding the original lost part.
Lost a small part once and couldn't find it. 6 months later I was taking a detail pic with my camera stuck way up in nowhere land and the long lost missing part was in the picture .

Lost one of the removeable 'tips' that come with those multi-headed screwdrivers about six months ago on the carport floor...couldn't find that sucker in broad daylight, even though it couldn't have gone very far.
Looked down yesterday as I was unloading stuff from the Vette, and there it was in plain sight, on the other side of the car.
Guess it took the gardeners with those blankety-blank leaf blowers they use in this apartment complex twice a week to finally blow it out into the open...
I use the same trick of dropping an identical part again, just to see where it goes, and hope that it lands up in the same place.
The small part I lost was one of the distributor advance springs. Now I put a tie wrap through the spring part so I can hold onto it in case I dont make the second connecting post, and it springs away from me.
